Molecular Biotechnology and Epigenetic Laboratory

Molecular, genetic and biotechnology laboratory is well equipped and present infrastructure is well enough to carry out reserch DNA Isolation and PCR studies. The basic aim is to conduct interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary research for cooperation between the public and private sectors within the scope of university-industry collaboration program.

The main study topics in Molecular, genetics and biotechnology Laboratory are molecular biotechnology and applied microbiology. İnnovation studies in our country, development of new methods for scientific community and humans is the basic aim of our Molecular Genetics and Biotechnology Laboratory.

Real-Time PCR

Real-time PCR detects precisely and sensitively and quantifies nucleic acid targets.  The device helps researchers to measure individual and multiplex testing.

Homogenizer

Technical properties are reusable, simple, quiet working, efficient cooling system during sample preparation,  and flexible homogenization. DNA, RNA, and protein are purified and isolated.

Automated Nucleic Acid Extraction

The instrument enables the researcher for Spin-column extraction and purification, and the device’s protocol number is more significant than 140 for DNA, RNA, and protein samples.  The results are quick and reproducible.

Nanodrop Spectrophotometer

Nanodrop spectrophotometer is only suitable for biochemical investigations.  The device’s primary function is to quantify microvolume concentration (2-2000 ng/µL) for nucleic acid and protein solutions. The results are resistive against the interferences of ambient light, reliable, cheap, repeatable, and fast. The device focus on nucleic acid and protein that the used wavelengths are 230 nm/260 nm/280 nm/320 nm.

Horizontal Electrophoresis System

The horizontal electrophoresis system screens 25 to 500 samples on an individual agarose gel that uses special combs and multichannel pipettes. The light band results are exact at the end of the analyses.

Gel Documentation Systems

Gel documentation systems have epi-white, trans-UV (302 nm), and white modes for illustration.

Pyrosequencing Technology

Pyrosequencing technology supplies a quantitative analysis of genetic or epigenetic DNA modifications. The system is fast that 1-24 samples can be analyzed in 15 minutes and help discover rare mutations’ sequence information. There are many research applications in various disciplines, including pathology, forensic science, and genetic.
